The Bank of India, one of the proficient nationalized banks in India has made an announcement regarding the Special Recruitment Drive 2010 for the posts of General Banking Officer Scale I and Scale II and Clerk in the following North Eastern States, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram, Sikkim and Tripura. The essential details of this recruitment drive are listed below:
Post #1: General Banking Officer (Scale I)

Post #2: General Banking Officer (Scale II)
No. of vacancies: 20
Scale of Pay: Rs.19400-700/1 – 20100-800/10- 28100
Post #3: Clerk

Scale of Pay: Rs.7200/- to Rs.19300/-
Online registration Starts on: 15th December, 2010 (for all the posts)
Online registration ends on: 3rd January, 2011 (for all the posts)
Date of written exam (for Post #1 and #2): 6th March, 2011
Date of Written Exam (for post #3): 13th March, 2011
For Post #1: Candidates should possess graduation in any discipline with min 60% aggregate from any recognized university.
For Post #2: Candidates should possess UG with 60% aggregate/PG with 50% aggregate/Diploma in any stream or professional qualifications like CA/ICWA from any recognized or AICTE approved institution. Also candidates should have experienced in Officer Cadre for atleast one year or in other posts for min 3 years in any banking/financial institutions.
For Post #3: Candidates should have passed in HSC exam/12th Std/equivalent pattern with min 50% aggregate OR should possess degree in any discipline from any recognized university.
Good knowledge in computer applications and Office automation along with possession of 3 months duration computer course from any recognized institute are desirable. Proficiency in Local language of the state applied for is essential.
How do they select?
The selection process will be through written test and personal interview (for all posts). The written test will comprise of 200 Objective Type questions and 5 compulsory Descriptive Type questions. However there will be changes in the objective paper. For Posts #1 and #2, the objective questions will be from Reasoning Ability (100), Quantitative Aptitude (50) and General Awareness on current developments (50) and will be of duration 120 mins. For Post #3 the same will be from Reasoning Ability and Numerical Aptitude (100), Clerical Aptitude (50) and English Language (50) and of duration 90 mins. Based on the performance in the written test the candidates will be merit-listed (min qualifying marks is 40%) and will be called for interview in the ratio 1:3. The final panel list will be declared based on the combined performance of the candidates in both written test and interview.
Fee for General/OBC candidates: Rs.400/- (for Post #1 and #2)
Fee for General/OBC candidates: Rs.250/- (for Post #3)
No fee for SC/ST/PWD/EXSM candidates (for all posts)
The application fee should be remitted only at the branches of Bank of India by using the Computer-generated Challan (available in the bank’s official website).
After payments candidates should apply only online via the bank’s official website. No other means or mode of applications will be accepted.
